Trustee Board
Our Trustee Board plays a vital role in the running of the Scout Group. They make decisions and carry out administrative tasks to ensure that the best quality Scouting can be delivered to all young people in the Group.
It is made up of people from within the Scout Group as well as other volunteers.
All Trustees undertake mandatory training in understanding the structure of the Scout Association and their role within it, safeguarding and data protection.
They are also registered with the Charity Commission as trustees of the Scout Group.
Lil Evans – Trustee – Chair
Lil took on the role of Chair in January 2020, having joined the Exec in November 2019 as the Beaver parent rep. She taught in Secondary schools for 14 years before moving to work in the VCSE sector. She works a a Community Development Officer at Community Action Suffolk and has a range of experience in governance, funding and fundraising, and working with communities. She also has experience in event planning, Asset Based Community Development (ABCD) and has completed NOCN Level 2 Award in Theory of Youth Work.
Lil’s experience of scouting comes from spending a year in the student scout and guide society (SSAGS) whilst at Cardiff University, which involved enduring a frostbite camp in North Wales and playing flaming bog roll football!

Group Leadership Team
The Group Leadership Team helps volunteers across all Sections to work well together and feel motivated. They make sure the Group is respected and supported in their local community.

Rachael joined the Exec in 2019 as our treasurer. She is qualified at Levels 1 & 2 in Bookkeeping & Accountancy, Sage 50 Levels 1 & 2 and Computerised Accounting Levels 1 & 2.

Jamie joined the Exec at the start of February 2021, having recently moved to Gislingham from Kent with his wife and 2 children. Jamie works as a Higher Education Administrator for a university in London. Outside of work he is a keen runner and tennis player. He also enjoys walking, cycling, gardening and local history.
