Martyn’s Scouting journey began in Bristol as a Cub Scout, with his dad as Scout Master. After returning to Scouting in 1991, he led 1st Necton Scouts for 12 years and has supported every NORJAM since 1994. He joined 1st Mendlesham in 2017 and became Group Scout Leader in 2020. A lifelong caterer, Martyn’s proudest Scouting achievement is helping 14 Scouts earn their Chief Scout Gold Award.

Roland grew up in Southend and worked his way through the scouting sections from Beavers to Venture Scouts, picking up plenty of muddy boots and good memories along the way. After a long break and a move to Suffolk, he was roped into helping with the Cubs—and stuck around. He’s now the Section Leader and has helped grow the group into a lively, well-run unit that keeps kids coming back week after week.

🏛️ Trustee Board
Our Trustee Board plays a vital role in the running of the Scout Group. They make decisions and carry out administrative tasks to ensure that the best quality Scouting can be delivered to all young people in the Group.
It is made up of people from within the Scout Group as well as other volunteers. All Trustees undertake mandatory training in understanding the structure of the Scout Association and their role within it, safeguarding and data protection. They are also registered with the Charity Commission as trustees of the Scout Group.
